| | | 9 | The Junction | Mon,28th May | | Kindly performing for free, as part of the 27 bands taking part in the massive Paul Hunter tribute concerts. And so onto Arcana to finish off a truly historic event in the history of the York music scene - 27 bands in 3 days and here were the excellent Arcana to finish things off. A rock 4 piece with just enough individulality to make them stand out of the crowd, Arcana had a great time on stage and delivered a set which went down a storm with the suitably inebriated crowd. I was a touch distracted throughout proceedings watching Andy, the sound man, making gaffer tape balls to throw at the Bass Player. And he managed to hit him with the first one n'all. Poor chap - he'd been out only that day to but a new set of bass strings (and for those of you not aware a new set of those buggers can set you back more than the cost of a 2nd hand car) but it didn't affect his performance. ooh er obviously. Top band Arcana - and I mean as a unit - 4 good musicians that gel together really well and the result will appeal to all but the most fickle ears. Cheers lads! - yorknights |
